Props, cosplay, sculpting, molding, lifecasting, stop motion; design - build - create
I'm a graduate of a 3 yr Classical Animation program at SCETCH. Classical hand drawn animation with sculpting, painting and film studies thrown in the mix. I have 10+years experience in TV and film. I was lead armaturist (machining metal skeletons for stop motion puppets) for two stop motion television series and several short films. I've been a set builder, a puppet fabricator (both silicone and foam latex) set dresser and carpenter. I've done robotic practical FX work for movies and SFX prosthetic makeup including teeth. I been an art director and a propsmaster for TV. I'm a sculptor and master mold maker. I'm the son of a seamstress so I sew. I do a little pattern making as required. I love well made pieces, appropriate fabrics for the purpose, not just broad cloth everywhere. I like to finish my pieces, lining, pressing, top stitching. I run Hephaestus Forge Props making costume pieces for hire. I have a 800 sqft shop in my 110 year old home with an array of tools, table saw, band saw, compound mitre saw, drill press, belt sanders and a spindle sander, small metal lathe, bench top mill, a plethora of hand and power tools, and a vacuum former.
Hobby maker, more into fibre arts. I can crochet basically anything but I am learning the other fun nature of prop building. Been cosplaying for over a decade, which has given me a lot of experience trying my hand at new building and making processes.
